McCarthy Says: For those who may be wondering, Student Debt Crisis does NOT support the most recent Senate deal on Stafford Loan interest rates. We haven't made much noise about this latest bill because it was a backroom deal and the fix was in - there wasn't much we could do to stop it. We're much more interested in focusing on Comprehensive Student Debt Reform - real reforms that would help everyone here and the nearly 40 million student loan borrowers struggling in America. We moved on from the debate over interest rate hikes because, frankly, 99% of the people here won't be affected by this rate hike issue. We'd much rather focus our time and energies on something that would have a meaningful affect on the people who are actually experiencing the squeeze from their already-accumulated student loan debt.
